The George Leigh Minor Plant and Soil Health Center combines UConn’s public-facing agricultural services with a flexible, collaborative, laboratory space for CAHNR. With your support, it has created a hub for researchers to answer some of the most pressing agricultural questions and challenges facing our state and nation.

To submit a sample to the lab, download the appropriate sample submission form and follow the sample collection instructions provided. Complete the submission form, and either mail or hand-deliver it to the lab.

For drop-off, bring your labeled samples and completed submission form during business hours and deliver them to the reception area (Home Garden Education Office) at the entrance of the Plant and Soil Health Center. If you are dropping off multiple samples, please group them together and make sure each sample is clearly labeled to match the form.

For shipping, package samples securely to prevent leakage or breakage, include the completed submission form inside the box, and ship using your preferred carrier. We recommend using a sturdy box and sealing bags well, especially for leafy plant material. Once your shipment arrives, samples are logged in and queued for analysis. View our Contact page for shipping addresses.

Tip: Before sending, double-check that your sample IDs on the bags match the IDs on your form. This helps us process your samples quickly and avoid delays.
